A little gift from me to you

M Kain

Happy August everyone!

I just turned a year older (quiet day, spent time with my husband, obviously did some drawing), and instead of big goals, I’m thinking about what I don’t want to carry into another year:

The pressure to always be productive

The habit of comparing myself to other artists

The idea that my art has to be perfect to matter

So, in the spirit of embracing imperfection, I’m giving you a little birthday gift: some coloring pages that I made to help you unwind and stop stressing about being perfect all the time.

These are a few of my pieces that I never truly finished.  They’re rough, unpolished, and honest. My hope? That they remind you that it’s okay to make messy things, start and stop, or let go of what isn’t working. Maybe, having you guys fill it in and make it truly finished is what we all need nowadays.

If you’ve ever felt “behind” or “not good enough,” maybe flipping through these will give you permission to just create for the sake of creating, and make something together.

Thanks for being here and for letting me share my messy process with you. Here’s to another year of making things, perfect or not.

Okay, talk soon!

Too busy to read this whole post?
Totally fair. I just had a birthday and realized it’s time to let go of some things that have been weighing me down, maybe you’ve been feeling that too.
